AMVETS POST 88 presents the 2nd Annual Labor Day Marathon

, A Car-Truck-Bike Show hosted by the Son’s of AMVETS Squadron 88, Bronson (next to the Speedway on S.R. 24). Music is by DJ Jeff. Come try our delicious pulled pork plate ($6) or chicken leg quarters ($5) with sides. We have door prizes too! Pre-registration is $15, or day of show $20. Registration is open from 9:00 am until noon. Awards presented at 2:00 pm. You can pick up a registration form at Ace Hardware in Bronson or at Post 88.

Sunday, September 6
a KARAOKE CONTEST. Contest starts at 1:00 pm at AMVETS Post 88 on S.R. 24 just east of the racetrack. This year there will be a junior and senior division. Juniors are age 15 and under and seniors start at age 16 and up. Entry fee is $5. There will be 1st and 2nd place money awarded for the junior division and 1st through 3rd place money will be awarded for the senior division. AMVETS will provide the judges for the competition. Contestants are asked to arrive early to register. You will be judged on two songs no longer than 4 minutes each. Judging is on technical difficulty, personal appearance, and vocal ability, eye contact with the audience and judges, and overall presentation of your song selections.

For more information, please contact Carol Perkins at (352) 278-2972. A cookout hosted by Sons of AMVETS Squadron 88 will consist of hamburgers, bratwurst, hotdogs and fries. Come on out for a wonderful day of entertainment and be surprised by the local vocals!

Monday, September 7 LIFESOUTH will have the Bloodmobile at AMVETS Post 88. We will also be having a membership drive for the AMVETS, SONS and AUXILIARY as well as another cookout. Please remember to donate blood or plasma as there is always a need.
